If it's the British channels you want, they are mostly on Astra 2 at 28.2°E. In the Almeria region you can get almost all of them with a 1.3 by 1.2 metre dish, providing you have a good quality high gain, low noise factor Low Noise Block (LNB) and a "good" receiver. A lot of receivers, whilst working fine in the UK, cause trouble here. Reportedly one of the best makes is Pace whereas older Grundigs are not so good.

You can find a good FAQ on satellite equipment at www.skyforeurope.com.
To receive anything other than BBC, ITV, some News and zillions of channels trying to part you from your money, you will need a Sky viewing card. Either a Freesat (which isn't free) or a subscription. For this you'll either need an address in the UK (it doesn't have to be yours, a friend or relative will do). Contrary to popular belief, you do not need a telephone line. A comprehensive list of channels can be found at www.lyngsat.com/28east.

If you want to know what size of dish you'll need for Astra 2 in other parts of Spain, or Europe, some useful information can be found on www.digitalsat.co.uk.
Should you feel brave and want to have a go yourself, you can find out which direction and at what elevation to point your dish by going to Satellite finder - dish azimuth and elevation pointing calculator. Ask about our equipment prices if you want to have a go yourself; you might have a pleasant surprise.
To receive German, Spanish and several other non-English channels in southers Europe, an 80cm dish will usually suffice together with a cheaper (due to having no card slots) digital satellite receiver. These channels are on Astra 1 at 19.2°E.
